Design Manager
Design Management | Engineering Leadership | Major Projects
A leading engineering and construction company is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design activities on a major infrastructure programme. The successful candidate will ensure designs are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with project and regulatory requirements.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing design delivery from concept through to construction.
- Leading multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
- Coordinating design reviews, approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
- Managing design schedules, deliverables, risks, and change control processes.
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, BIM, and contractual requirements.
- Working closely with construction, commercial, quality, and digital teams to drive successful project outcomes.

About You
The company is seeking a candidate with:
- An Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience as a Design Manager, Engineering Manager, Responsible Engineer, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design and construction delivery.
- Experience managing consultants, subcontractors, and technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of design assurance, risk management, and change control.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
