Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager with a strong background in facades and external envelope systems to join a leading construction project based in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work on a high-profile project, managing the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the facade design process from concept through to completion.
- Liaise with architects, structural engineers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
- Review and manage technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate design programmes to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Identify and resolve design and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend design team meetings and provide technical guidance where required.
- Manage design change processes and maintain accurate documentation.
- Work closely with site teams to ensure design intent is delivered during construction.

Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of facades, curtain walling, cladding, rainscreen systems, glazing, or the external envelope.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and technical detailing.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common construction document management systems.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates will ideally hold one or more of the following:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, Architecture, Building Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (such as CIOB, RICS, ICE, CIAT, or equivalent) is advantageous.
- CSCS Card (Manager or Professionally Qualified Person)
- Knowledge of current UK Building Regulations and facade compliance requirements.
