The Role
As Design Manager, you will lead and inspire the design team across Men’s, Women’s, and Accessories categories. Reporting to the Head of Product, your role is to drive the creation of stylish, functional, and high-performance activewear that resonates with customers and strengthens MP Activewear’s position in the market.
You’ll collaborate closely with product development, marketing, and buying teams to manage every stage of the design lifecycle—from concept to production—ensuring collections are innovative, trend-led, commercially viable, and aligned with our brand ethos.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and high performance across Men’s, Women’s, and Accessories collections.
- Develop and deliver trend-led, high-quality collections that embody MP Activewear’s brand values and cater to our active customer base.
- Drive the creative vision of the ranges, ensuring the brand messaging is consistently executed.
- Conduct ongoing research into fashion trends, fabrics, technologies, and sustainability to future-proof product offerings.
- Collaborate with product development to ensure designs meet technical, fit, and functional specifications.
- Stay aligned with product development timelines and milestones, guiding the design phase effectively.
- Present design concepts and collections confidently to stakeholders, integrating feedback to refine and enhance outputs.
- Work with buying teams to select materials balancing sustainability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor competitor activity, influencer trends, and market shifts to anticipate opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Participate in fittings, ensuring designs translate seamlessly into high-quality manufactured products.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in clothing/sportswear/activewear design, with a minimum 2 years in a management/leadership role.
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in designing performance-activewear.
- Comprehensive knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and technical design principles.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and relevant design software.
- Ability to bridge creative vision with commercial needs, ensuring designs are both functional and brand-aligned.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Passion for activewear and an intuitive understanding of modern consumer needs.
- Adaptability, proactiveness, and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
