Join a Team That Puts People First
A&F Sprinklers has been protecting lives and property since 1986. As a growing, employee-owned business, we’re proud of our people-first culture and commitment to excellence.
We’re looking for a hands-on Sprinkler Design/Project Engineer to join our Repairs Division, ideally someone with experience in small works such as shop unit fit-outs, minor refurbishments, and system alterations.
This role is perfect for a Design Engineer who is confident using AutoCAD 2D and hydraulic calculation software, and who is ready to take the next step into Project Management. You’ll bring 3+ years’ experience in fire sprinklers, along with a solid understanding of how small-scale projects are delivered.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Sprinkler Design/Project Engineer in our Repairs Division, you’ll oversee the delivery of smaller-scale sprinkler system projects, including:
- Managing minor installations, system modifications, and remedial works.
- Reviewing and producing technical drawings and specifications.
- Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Attending site visits, client meetings, and handovers.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Preparing risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH documentation.
- Supporting junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
