Design Technician Joinery & Fit Out
Location: London
Salary: Competitive (Negotiable Depending on Experience)

The Opportunity
An established and highly respected specialist joinery contractor is looking to appoint a talented Design Technician to join its growing technical team in London.
The business delivers bespoke joinery packages across a wide range of prestigious commercial, residential, and specialist construction projects throughout the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company known for its craftsmanship, quality, and commitment to delivering exceptional interiors.
Working closely with Design Managers and project teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and developing detailed joinery designs from concept through to manufacture and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, detailed, and fully coordinated technical drawings.
- Develop joinery designs from architects' and designers' information.
- Ensure all drawings comply with current industry standards and health & safety requirements.
- Revise and update drawings following internal reviews and client comments.
- Take ownership of allocated joinery packages from design through to project completion.
- Check drawings against the latest architectural information to ensure accuracy.
- Provide technical support to the production and manufacturing teams.
- Assist with resolving technical design queries during the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and design processes.

Requirements
- Previous experience in a Design Technician or Technical Designer role within joinery, interiors, or construction.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and teamworking abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Good problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

Desirable Skills
- AutoCAD (essential)
- SolidWorks (2D & 3D advantageous)
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- Understanding of bespoke joinery manufacturing and construction methods
