Designate Bodyshop Manager – ABL 1 Touch

We’re expanding and are now searching for a Designate Bodyshop Manager to join our West Sussex & Surrey Team.
In this role, you will:
- Spend a minimum of 8 weeks learning the ABL 1 Touch Way of Working (proof-of-concept period)
- Support a geographical area until a permanent site assignment
- Once assigned to a permanent location, oversee:
- Site operations
- Team performance (site & colleagues)
- Safety, quality, and customer service compliance
- Ensure all policies, processes, and best practices are consistently applied
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times

As Designate Bodyshop Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Workshop productivity
- Quality control (consistent high standards)
- Comprehensive documentation (check sheets, reports, compliance forms)
- Communication with stakeholders regarding constraints to productivity and maintenance
- High housekeeping standards
- Fulfilling statutory requirements (health & safety, COSHH, etc.)
- Meeting insurance company compliance
- Minimising non-productive time
- Achieving productivity targets
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager, Workshop Manager, Bodyshop Manager, or Assistant Manager in the automotive sector
- 3–5 years’ experience in vehicle repair (strong focus on body and paint repair)
- Proactive leadership skills – ability to manage teams effectively and drive results
- Motor manufacturer qualifications (or equivalent industry experience)
- First-time-right mentality – passionate about customer satisfaction
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills (both internal and external)
- Exceptional organisational skills (multi-tasking, varied workloads)
- Attention to detail and fluency in Microsoft Office
- Planning & time management – ability to meet deadlines
- Upbeat, friendly personality (team collaboration is key)
- Technical expertise in body and paint repair (retail motor industry)
