Designated Nurse Safeguarding Adults
Location: London Based ICB | Working Pattern: 4 Days Per Week | Arrangement: Predominantly Remote | Contract Length: Until March 2027
The Role
As the Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Adults, you will:
- Provide expert safeguarding leadership and advice across the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and wider system
- Support the development and implementation of safeguarding strategies and policies
- Work collaboratively with:
- Local authorities
- Providers
- NHS partners
- Other key stakeholders
- Provide professional oversight and assurance relating to safeguarding adults activity
- Contribute to safeguarding quality improvement initiatives and system learning
- Support statutory safeguarding requirements and governance processes

Essential Experience
- Previous experience as a Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Adults
- Extensive safeguarding adults experience within NHS or commissioning environments
- Strong knowledge of:
- The Care Act
- The Mental Capacity Act
- Associated safeguarding legislation
- Experience providing strategic leadership at system level
- Ability to:
- Influence and engage senior stakeholders across multiple organisations
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills

Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working within:
- An ICB
- A CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group)
- NHS England or similar commissioning organisation
- Experience supporting:
- Safeguarding assurance frameworks
- Governance processes
- Knowledge of wider health and social care commissioning arrangements
