Purpose of Role: This is a 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity to join Weir Minerals as a Designer, supporting key engineering and customer deliverables. You will work closely with Product Engineering, Sales, and Operations to translate customer requirements into high‑quality engineered solutions. The role offers hands‑on exposure across the full design lifecycle, from concept through to fabrication and site retrofit support. It’s an excellent opportunity to further develop your design expertise within a global, purpose‑driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
Produce 3D assembly models and 2D detail and fabrication drawings using CAD systems, supporting sales orders and project delivery. Design new products and optimise existing designs using Value Engineering techniques, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards. Review drawings and design solutions to ensure they are manufacturable, cost‑effective, and meet specification requirements. Provide technical design support to Sales, Operations, and site activities, including retrofit measurement work. Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications:
HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical design experience. 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and assembly environments. Proficiency in 3D modelling and 2D drafting using CAD software (NX preferred). Knowledge of fabrication principles, welding standards (AWS & ISO), and mineral processing or pumping equipment.
Must be permanently authorised to work in the country to which you are applying, without sponsorship.
