Job Title: Designer - Shoes Embellishment Department: Design Reporting to: Design Director, Women’s Shoes Location: London
Overall Purpose of the Role:
As a member of the Women’s Shoe Design team, this role is to create innovative embellishment and surface design for seasonal shoe collections and special projects, combining aesthetics, function and following the design brief and Jimmy Choo Brand identity.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Collaborate with the Shoe Design Team on creative research and conceptual development for repeat patterns, prints, engineered designs, embroideries, embellishments and general surface design applications as well as graphics, branding motifs and CAD renderings Work across a wide range of materials, including but not limited to, fabric and leather Produce freehand and CAD sketching, collages, painted artwork Translate concepts into production-ready artwork Undertake Trend, Material and Colour Research, including attendance at trade fairs Develop innovative finishes and techniques and select fabrics Contribute to collection development meetings and attend key factory and supplier visits in Europe for seasonal collections Contribute to research, design ideas and prepare design presentations with team Prepare technical sheets Update and administrate collection overview documents Attend design meetings, merchandising meetings and other relevant meetings related to design, product and commercial reporting as requested Design additional functions / categories as requested Work on other ad-hoc projects when required

Skills, Experience and Qualifications: Print/Design Degree or equivalent work experience, ideally in an international luxury organisation known for a strong emphasis on embellishment. Strong experience working in embroidery, textile print, surface design and with factories / suppliers within Europe (preferably Italy) Specialised in sophisticated image and pattern design with a modern, feminine and glamorous hand Strong understanding of current fashion trends with a refined sensibility Excellent sense of style, strong colour and composition sensibility Expert technical understanding of factory capabilities and supplier base in printing and embroidery processes Experienced in creating hand-drawn and painted artworks for production Excellent communication skills in person, via phone and email High level CAD skills across Adobe suite – Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate or equivalent Understanding of footwear construction and manufacturing processes is a bonus
Characteristics Required: Team player Able to translate the Jimmy Choo aesthetic into appropriate product Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to interact with all levels of resources – internal and external – and build relationships Excellent organisational, time management and presentation skills Ability to prioritise and work independently and meet deadlines

Special Circumstances: Travel to Italy required Absolute understanding and acceptance of Jimmy Choo design/product development calendar Adaptability to handle additional category requests based on business needs. As the Jimmy Choo business continues to evolve, new categories, collections and collaborations will be added. Design and development duties will be allocated in the most sensible way keeping in mind the workload of the position and the skill and strengths of the talent in the role
