Project Engineer: Olympic Cycling
18–24 month fixed-term contract (potentially permanent) • Must start immediately
At Catesby Projects, we deliver engineering solutions for high-profile sectors, including motorsport, automotive, and elite sport. This role supports a new Olympic track cycling project, where you’ll play a key part in ensuring seamless delivery for our customer. Expect a varied, fast-paced environment where engineering innovation across sectors shapes the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary design team to meet customer outcomes
- Lead project and programme management, including budgeting
- Undertake design work and review, ensuring high standards
- Drive end-to-end delivery of elite sporting equipment and performance solutions
- Manage supplier relationships, from request for quotes (RFQ) to final delivery
- Assist with testing programs (aerodynamic and physical)
- Support surfacing requirements for sporting, automotive, and motorsport development

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- A mechanical or manufacturing engineer with industry experience and a passion for elite sport, especially cycling
- Experience in composite manufacturing
- Immediate availability to start
- A minimum of 2–3 years’ industrial experience
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Ideal:
- Track record in delivering engineering projects under pressure
- Ambitious with a drive to help Catesby Projects grow
- Strong customer liaison skills, able to translate technical requirements
- Proficiency in CAD (surface and solid modelling )
- Experience in prototyping and manufacturing processes
- Preference for candidates with elite sports sector background
- Knowledge of aerodynamics and testing

Requirements
- UK work eligibility
- Must hold a British driving licence and own a car (role requires travel, including visits to the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub for wind tunnel testing)
