With 10 modern branches, including locations such as New Malden, Wimbledon, and Guildford, Champion Timber is known for knowledgeable teams, strong customer support, and tailored solutions for every project.
Role Description
The Desk Sales Person is a full-time, on-site role based at Champion Timber’s Bromley branch. This role involves serving trade and retail customers at the sales counter, providing product advice, preparing quotations, and processing orders accurately through the company’s systems. The Desk Sales Person will handle inbound phone and email enquiries, follow up on leads, and proactively recommend suitable timber and related products to meet customer requirements. - Maintaining up-to-date product knowledge
- Coordinating with warehouse and delivery teams to fulfill orders
- Supporting branch merchandising and stock checks to ensure a professional and well-presented sales environment

Qualifications
- Strong customer service and sales abilities, with confidence in advising customers and closing sales.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including clear spoken and written English.
- Basic numeracy and IT proficiency for preparing quotes, processing orders, and using POS or ERP systems.
- Ability to learn and retain product knowledge related to timber, building materials, and associated services.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail for handling multiple enquiries and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience in trade counter, retail sales, or builders’ merchants is beneficial but not essential.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced branch environment and collaborating with colleagues across functions.
- Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
- Relevant vocational training or secondary education; industry certifications in construction or timber are an advantage.
