Desktop Services Manager - 3 Mth Contract - Edinburgh Hybrid
Technology Desktop Services Manager (Contract)
Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite)
We're supporting a client in appointing an experienced Technology Desktop Services Manager to lead the optimisation and enhancement of their end-user technology services.
This contract is suited to an experienced technology professional who can:
- Assess existing service delivery
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Implement best practice across desktop support, asset management, service management, and supplier engagement
The successful contractor will work with internal stakeholders and technical teams to:
- Improve service performance
- Strengthen operational processes
- Enhance the overall user experience

The Role
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across desktop support and end-user technology services.
- Delivery of Service remediation projects.
- Review and optimise IT asset management processes, governance, and lifecycle controls.
- Assess supplier performance, support vendor engagement, and recommend improvements to:
- Service delivery
- Commercial value
- Support major incident coordination where required, ensuring:
- Effective communication
- Timely resolution
- Improve knowledge management, documentation, and self-service resources to:
- Increase efficiency
- Reduce repeat incidents
- Review and enhance IT Service Desk operations, processes, and service performance.

Experience Required
Strong background leading and improving IT Service Desk or End User Services environments.
- Expertise in IT Asset Management and lifecycle governance.
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and service providers to improve operational performance.
- Strong understanding of ITIL Service Management principles.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience delivering:
- Service improvement
- Operational change
- Technical understanding of Microsoft end-user technologies and enterprise desktop environments.
