2839 – Desktop Support Engineers, Aberdeen

Join a people-centred technology team that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and delivering meaningful outcomes.

We're looking for talented and motivated Desktop Support Engineers to join our team. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, providing technical support and helping to deliver solutions that make a real difference for our clients.

You'll support a broad range of technologies and work with teams across the business to resolve incidents, troubleshoot issues, and fulfil service requests. As one of the first points of contact for users, you'll handle IT queries via phone, email, live chat, and instant messaging, so you'll need to be comfortable speaking with people at all levels and delivering a professional support experience.

We're looking for individuals who enjoy solving problems, have a genuine desire to help others, and can explain technical issues in a clear and straightforward way, whether they're speaking to a technical or non-technical audience. Relevant offshore certification, or a willingness to undertake the certification, would be beneficial but is not essential.

If you enjoy working in a supportive team environment, are keen to develop your skills, and want to be part of a business that values its people, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Manage, update, and resolve incidents and service requests using the IT service management toolset
  • Carry out IT equipment moves, installations, refreshes, and user setups
  • Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical users
  • Maintain operating system patching, software updates, antivirus protection, and endpoint security standards
  • Install, configure, and support a range of business applications and software packages
  • Support desktop, hardware, and operating system refresh programs, ensuring minimal disruption to users

What to bring

  • Strong technical aptitude and experience supporting Microsoft-based environments
  • Good understanding of end-user support and troubleshooting within an enterprise environment
  • Hands-on experience building, configuring, upgrading, and imaging PCs and laptops
  • Experience supporting remote and office-based users across a range of technologies
  • Good working knowledge of current Microsoft Windows operating systems

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to desktops, laptops, printers, and other end-user devices
  • Experience using IT service management or call logging tools to manage incidents and service requests
  • Experience carrying out IT equipment deployments, relocations, refreshes, and user setups
  • Solid understanding of core infrastructure services such as DNS and DHCP
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users
  • A proactive, positive, and customer-focused approach to work
  • Good awareness of current IT industry standards, technologies, and best practice
  • ITIL Foundation certification, or experience working within an ITIL-aligned support environment, particularly incident and problem management
  • Relevant technical certifications, such as Microsoft or CompTIA, would be advantageous

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
