Support Specialist (Desktop Support)
Location: London (Fully Onsite)
Contract: Initial contract until mid-January, with a planned 6-month extension
Rate: £19.50 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a customer-focused Support Specialist to join a busy onsite IT support team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Desktop Support professional who enjoys working directly with end users and delivering high-quality technical support in a fast-paced environment.
This is a fully onsite role, providing face-to-face technical support across both Windows and Mac environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite, face-to-face technical support to end users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and operating system issues.
- Support both Windows and macOS devices.
- Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops and peripheral devices.
- Diagnose and resolve technical incidents within agreed service levels.
- Record and update incidents using the IT service management system.
- Assist with hardware deployments, software installations and device setup.
- Escalate complex technical issues when required.
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a professional and approachable manner.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in Desktop Support, Deskside Support, IT Support or End User Support.
- Proven experience providing face-to-face technical support.
- Hands-on experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests.

- Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- ServiceNow or other ITSM ticketing systems
- Intune, JAMF or SCCM
- Hardware imaging and device deployment
