About the Role

Think you know DHL? Think again! We’re not just about delivering parcels—DHL Supply Chain is the world's leading logistics company, and our people drive its success by keeping operations running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

We’re recruiting for a hands-on Despatch Clerk to join our dynamic team. This isn’t a standard Despatch role—it’s a collaborative, multi-faceted responsibility, requiring flexibility, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

You’ll join a small team of four Despatch Clerks, collectively managing vehicle loads, site coordination, reception updates, and operational compliance—structured division ensures efficiency, but cross-training and adaptability are expected to cover absence and peak demands.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

You’ll play a pivotal role across these critical tasks:

  • WMS Operations:
    • Process customer orders using Warehouse Management System (WMS) platforms.
  • Load Planning & Operations:
    • Plan vehicle loads with precision, prioritising weight distribution and volume balance.
    • Oversee vehicle movements from arrival to departure, ensuring adherence to site policies.
    • Liaise daily with the planning team and management to meet targets and maintain service continuity.
  • Trailer & Transportation Coordination:
    • Arrange trailers with transport teams based on operational needs.
    • Support loaders with structured despatch of pallets and trailers.
  • Site Control & Security:
    • Perform general reception duties and regulate site access/egress.
    • Conduct staff searches as required.
  • Cross-Team Support:
    • Work wherever needed—oversee the gatehouse, manage work release, handle planning, and fill logistical gaps.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
