Despatch Operative
Despatch Operative – Glaisdale Site
Are you an effective communicator who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Despatch Operative to join our Despatch team at our Glaisdale site.
About The Role
As a Despatch Operative, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of products across our operation. You will be responsible for:
- Sorting goods by date to ensure correct stock rotation
- Preparing items for onward distribution
- Supporting the loading and unloading of inter-site vehicles
This is a physically active role, ideal for someone who enjoys being on their feet and takes pride in maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and organise products accurately by date to ensure correct stock rotation
- Safely load and unload vehicles, handling all products with care to prevent damage
- Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet daily targets
- Carry out basic stock checks and ensure product integrity is maintained
- Use basic IT systems to support despatch processes
- Take ownership of tasks, identifying and escalating issues where required

About You
We’re looking for someone proactive, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, despatch, or similar environment (desirable, but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and team leaders
- Basic IT knowledge
- The ability to work on your own initiative and manage your workload effectively
- A strong sense of accountability, taking ownership of tasks and learning from mistakes
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to contribute to team success
