Food Industry Career Opportunity – Despatch Operative Positions

Europe’s leading food processing company is expanding and has vacancies for Despatch Operatives within a strong, existing team. If you’re interested in a career in the food industry, we are looking to fill roles across two shifts:

  • Morning shift: 06:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Afternoon shift: 09:15 AM to 5:45 PM (Monday to Friday)

This is a full-time position.

About the Role

The Despatch Operatives play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, efficient and accurate dispatch of chilled stock to customers across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stack, rotate and conduct stock-takes in chill storage
  • Select and prepare correct stock for assembling customer orders, transferring stock to the despatch bay as needed
  • Process relevant documentation for each consignment
  • Scan all crates on every pallet before despatch to ensure accuracy
  • Verify that crates have been correctly scanned and that the destination is accurately recorded
  • Provide assistance across other departments when required
  • Maintain cleanliness and uphold strict Health, Safety and Hygiene standards

Eligibility and Requirements

We are seeking motivated individuals who demonstrate the ideal combination of skills and enthusiasm. The perfect fit for this role will include:

  • A willingness to work in a physical environment that requires handling chilled stock
  • A positive, proactive approach, working independently while contributing to the team
  • Flexibility that includes being available for extra hours to meet customer demands, particularly helping to manage peak times
  • Preferably, but optionally, experience (or willingness to train in) Forklift (Counterbalance) operations (training will be provided)
  • Comfort with working within the shift pattern specified (06:00–14:30 or 09:15–17:45, Monday to Friday)
