Despatch Supervisor - Afternoon Shift
We are currently looking for a Despatch Supervisor - afternoon shift to support our despatch team at our site in Westerleigh. The job is to lead a small team (7) within the department and ensure that the team is empowered, motivated, and appropriately skilled to deliver a high level of performance to meet the objectives and adhere to a high level of health and safety standards.

Monday to Friday - 13:30 - 22:15
You will assist the Despatch Manager with the safe and efficient running of the Despatch area, meeting customer quality requirements whilst delivering KPI’s.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include The Following
- Ensure all orders requested to ship do so in accordance with their delivery instructions and service level agreements
- Support / manage all areas of the picking operation to make sure their responsibilities are completed in a timely manner
- Maintain and verify delivery paperwork and vehicle schedules
- Liaise with and support other departments within the business to ensure a consistent and reliable service is delivered to our customers
- Ensure all members of the team specifically conform and adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and internal procedures pertaining to a distribution environment
- Manage team holidays and deal with absences and sickness
- Ensure close interaction and sharing of responsibility between team members, with effective hand over and communication around all shifts
- Ability to organise resources to suit the operational needs
- Ability to monitor progress and performance, taking action where necessary
- Be able to promote flexibility through skills training and personal development
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing scenarios
- Work under pressure
- Ability to work extra hours/weekend when required
- Capable of controlling all direct activities and relevant standard operating procedures, ensuring they are actively pursued
- To be able to operate forklift, electric pallet truck and tug (only required during shunter driver holidays/sickness)
- Ability to use Microsoft office: outlook, word and excel at a basic level
- The safe loading/placement of material on trucks
- Communicate with transport & sales representatives about freight details, delivery times, and special handling requests.
- Other relevant duties as assigned

- Experience in warehouse operations
- Forklift and electric pallet truck experience is beneficial however, full training will be provided
- Ability to organise resources to suit the operational needs
- Ability to monitor progress and performance, taking action where necessary
