About the Role
NCC’s Threat Intelligence Engineering Team is seeking a Developer to support analysts and engineers in delivering a world-class cyber threat intelligence capability.
This role involves building, deploying, securing, monitoring, and maintaining application extensions, automations, and auxiliary tooling for our primary Threat Intelligence platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Building, deploying, securing, monitoring, and maintaining Python application extensions and CLI tooling
- Connecting diverse backend systems to break down siloed data repositories
- Plugging the technical gap between developers, engineers, and analysts through automations and tooling
- Supporting engineers, developers, and analysts with automatable processes
- Identifying automation opportunities within the department

Requirements
Essential Capabilities and Understanding
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, particularly for backend system connectivity and CLI tooling
- Knowledge of cloud networking and computing concepts, with a focus on AWS
- Experience working in a DevOps team
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of security principles involved in cloud computing
- Ability to provide concise explanations of complex technical topics to diverse team members
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills for building solutions from scratch
Preferred Capabilities and Understanding
- Experience in backend system development
- Knowledge of data management and transformation
- Familiarity with Threat Intelligence tooling and platforms (e.g., OpenCTI or MISP)
- Awareness of STIX2/TAXII2 standards
- Experience working with open-source software
- Additional programming, scripting, or development experience
