Developer Department: Cyber Services and Capabilities Employment Type: Full Time Location: London, GBR


About the Role

NCC’s Threat Intelligence engineering team is seeking a Developer to support analysts and engineers by delivering a world-class cyber threat intelligence capability.

The role will build, deploy, secure, monitor, and maintain application extensions, automations, and auxiliary tooling for our primary Threat Intelligence platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Building, deploying, securing, monitoring, and maintaining Python application extensions and CLI tooling
  • Connecting diverse backend systems to break down siloed data repositories
  • Plugging the technical gap between developers, engineers, and analysts through automations and tooling
  • Providing robust support for automatable processes across teams
  • Identifying and implementing automation opportunities within the department

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

  • Proficiency in Python and Bash, especially for backend integration and CLI tooling
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and computing (focus on AWS)
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of cloud security principles
  • Ability to provide clear, concise explanations of complex technical topics to non-specialist teams
  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking to develop novel solutions

Preferred

  • Backend system development experience
  • Data management and transformation knowledge
  • Familiarity with Threat Intelligence tooling (e.g., OpenCTI, MISP)
  • Experience with STIX2/TAXII2 standards
  • Contributions to open-source software
  • Additional programming/scripting/development expertise
