Developer
Threat Intelligence Developer
Department: Cyber Services and Capabilities Location: GBR Cheltenham, Jessop House
About the Role
NCC’s Threat Intelligence engineering team is seeking a Developer to collaborate with analysts and engineers, delivering a world-class cyber threat intelligence capability.
This role involves designing, deploying, securing, monitoring, and maintaining application extensions, automations, and auxiliary tooling for our primary Threat Intelligence platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, secure, monitor, and maintain Python application extensions and CLI tooling
- Integrate diverse backend systems, breaking down siloed data repositories
- Bridge the gap between developers, engineers, and analysts by providing automations and tooling
- Offer robust support for automatable workflows to improve efficiency
- Identify and implement automation opportunities within the department
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, particularly in system connectivity and CLI tooling development
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and computing (with a focus on AWS)
- Experience working in DevOps environments
- Deep knowledge of containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Clear comprehension of security principles in cloud computing
- Ability to simplify complex technical topics for non-technical collaborators
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking to build scalable solutions

Preferred
- Experience in backend system development
- Data management and transformation expertise
- Familiarity with Threat Intelligence platforms (e.g., OpenCTI, MISP)
- Knowledge of STIX2/TAXII2 standards
- Contribution to open-source software
- Additional programming/scripting/development experience
