AI is rewriting the rules of software engineering — and enterprise organizations need leaders who can turn that disruption into competitive advantage.
As AI-assisted development, agentic coding tools, and autonomous engineering capabilities go mainstream, most companies are stuck between experimentation and real impact: fragmented adoption, unclear integration paths, and uncertainty about how engineering roles must evolve.
AWS is looking for a Transformation Strategist to join the Developer Transformation (DevTx) team in EMEA — someone who thrives at the intersection of AI and enterprise-scale change. In this role, you will lead high-impact, time-boxed engagements that move customers from ambiguous transformation challenges to production-ready outcomes: from workshops introducing AI-driven development practices, to multi-week sprints co-building agentic frameworks and deploying frontier AI agents into real engineering workflows.
This role requires equal fluency in business strategy and technology. The Transformation Strategist operates in highly ambiguous environments, framing ill-defined problems into actionable engagements, and influencing stakeholders from C-level executives to individual software engineers. It is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of customer obsession, technical depth, and delivery excellence.
The role is based in London and requires regular travel across EMEA and occasionally to other WW locations.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify and understand frictions across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC); work backwards from outcomes to propose impactful engagements
- Translate technology into business value: map AI-powered solutions — code generation, automated testing, agentic CI/CD — to specific SDLC/PDLC bottlenecks; engage credibly at a technical level to build trust and shape solution direction
- Guide organizational evolution: help customers redesign engineering roles, team structures, and delivery processes as AI transforms how software is planned, built, tested, and shipped
- Scope and design engagements: translate ambiguous needs into well-defined proposals targeting specific SDLC/PDLC phases, with clear objectives and success criteria
- Lead end-to-end delivery: drive engagements from kickoff to production-ready outcomes, sourcing the right builders while managing stakeholders across customers and AWS teams
- Influence across levels: build trust with executives while collaborating hands-on with practitioners to ensure solutions are grounded in real workflows
- Develop and manage a pipeline: identify and qualify DevTx opportunities with sales and account teams; prioritize based on impact and strategic alignment
- Maintain technical credibility and grow the practice: stay current on AI-assisted development tooling and agentic architectures; capture learnings, improve methodologies, and contribute to thought leadership

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
