About the Role
Are you passionate about transforming how developers build, deploy and operate software?
Computacenter is looking for a Developer Experience & Platform Engineering Solution Architect to join our growing Cloud & Apps Practice, helping some of the UK's largest public and private sector organisations modernise software delivery through:
- Platform Engineering
- Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)
- DevOps
- Developer Experience (DevEx) best practices
As a senior member of our Cloud & Apps Practice, you'll work at the intersection of technology strategy, architecture and delivery, partnering with customers to design and implement modern engineering platforms that:
- Improve developer productivity
- Accelerate delivery
- Enhance operational resilience

Design and architect:
- Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Cloud-native engineering platforms at scale

Facilitate workshops with:
- Engineering leaders
- Product teams
- Platform stakeholders
- To define target architectures, operating models and delivery roadmaps

Translate complex business and technical challenges into clear, implementable:
- Platform
- DevEx solutions

Provide end-to-end technical leadership across:
- Pre-sales
- Engagement delivery
- From discovery through implementation assurance

Support sales teams with:
- Opportunity shaping
- Bid responses
- Solution design
- Commercial proposal development

Define reusable patterns and reference architectures across the Cloud & Apps Practice

Research and experiment with emerging:
- Tools
- Technologies
- Practices
- To evolve Platform Engineering and DevEx offerings

Lead and mentor consultants and architects, ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple engagements

Requirements

Expertise in:
- Platform Engineering
- Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)

Developer Experience (DevEx) and DevOps transformation

Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OpenShift)

CI/CD tooling (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness)
-
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
-
Backstage or similar developer portal technologies
-
Observability, monitoring and developer feedback platforms
-
Secrets management and identity solutions (e.g., HashiCorp Vault)
-
Progressive delivery, release orchestration and modern deployment practices
-
Ability to:
- Engage with senior stakeholders
- Lead technical teams
- Translate business challenges into practical, scalable engineering solutions
