The IXICO Platform is tailored for neurological disease, reliably processing global trial data and measuring key imaging biomarkers linked to diseases like Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, and Parkinson’s. Image data is analysed by the platform, with expert scientists translating insights into clinically meaningful outcomes while reducing variability and increasing reproducibility.

Role

We are hiring an experienced and passionate Developer/Support Engineer to join our dynamic, full-time team in a permanent capacity, supporting both our legacy and cloud-based platforms.

Purpose of the Role

This is a hybrid development/support role, ensuring operational efficiency and continuous improvement of IXICO’s clinical trial imaging platforms (both legacy and cloud). Your key responsibilities include:

  • Front-line support for systems like Linux/Tomcat/Postgres/Java (legacy) and Azure DevOps, Azure Web Services, C#, CosmosDB, Kubernetes, Docker, React (modern platform).
  • Troubleshooting complex issues and managing support queries while balancing client-driven timelines with long-term projects.
  • Collaborating with development teams on requirements, workflows, and feature development.
  • Supporting continuous innovation by contributing to new feature development and technical improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end support for IXICO’s clinical imaging data platforms.
  • Manage and prioritise support tickets, offering prompt resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) for data automation and configuration.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to refine and implement requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource for colleagues, documenting processes and sharing knowledge.
  • Optimise workflows and processes to increase efficiency.
  • Contribute to feature development on legacy and cloud platforms.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and promote best practices.

Requirements

Essential

✅ A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. ✅ Strong programming skills (preferably in Python or Bash for scripting). ✅ Linux/Unix proficiency and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. ✅ Database experience (SQL or CosmosDB for Azure). ✅ OOP knowledge (object-oriented design and patterns). ✅ Proven technical support experience in a high-impact role. ✅ Clear communication and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. ✅ Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Desirable

🔹 Experience with Java or C# development. 🔹 Familiarity with Azure cloud services. 🔹 Knowledge of medical imaging standards (DICOM). 🔹 Design patterns and software best practices experience. 🔹 Exposure to Agile methodologies. 🔹 Working with Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.
