About The Role
Are you passionate about developing people, shaping future talent, and driving a learning culture? We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Energy Business Unit as a Developing People Business Partner, playing a key role in delivering our people and skills strategy.
Reporting to the Head of People (HOP), you will support the design and delivery of Learning & Development (L&D) initiatives across the Energy Business Unit. This is a high-impact role with strong visibility, offering the chance to influence future skills planning and contribute to a rapidly expanding area of the business.

While this role has no direct line management responsibility, you will provide direction to a coordinator and work closely with stakeholders across the business, HR teams, and central learning functions.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will play a critical role in shaping and embedding a strong learning culture across the business by:
- Supporting and delivering the L&D strategy aligned to the BU people plan
- Driving initiatives across:
- Future skills planning
- Line management development
- High-potential (HiPo) programmes
- Early careers, including graduates, apprenticeships, and careers engagement
- Leading engagement with:
- Graduate programmes and retention strategies
- Power Uni and external talent pipelines (including grad fairs)
- Delivering and enhancing core behavioural development programmes
- Partnering with leaders to identify learning needs, support talent development, and drive succession planning
- Promoting and embedding digital learning solutions, including LMS and e-learning content
- Supporting managers to foster a continuous learning culture within their teams
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, growing environment and enjoys partnering with stakeholders to make a real impact.
Essential:
- Strong experience in Learning & Development and/or Early Careers
- Proven experience designing and delivering L&D initiatives (from diagnosis through to evaluation)
- Ability to influence and coach stakeholders at all levels
- Experience supporting talent management and development programmes
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively

Desirable:
- CIPD Level 5–7 (or equivalent)
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, or multi-site environments
- Experience with graduate programmes, apprenticeships, or behavioural tools
- Knowledge of e-learning platforms and digital learning design
