About You

If you are an experienced service charge accounting professional who enjoys building strong relationships, solving problems and delivering high-quality financial reporting, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a Development Accounts Business Partner to join our Services Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to manage your own portfolio of developments, partnering closely with Operations Managers and key stakeholders to deliver accurate service charge accounts, budgets and financial insight.

This is far more than a technical accounting role. You will become the trusted finance partner for your portfolio, providing expert advice, challenging assumptions, supporting operational decision-making and ensuring homeowners receive clear, accurate and timely financial information.

Working in a collaborative and customer-focused environment, you will balance multiple priorities, meet statutory deadlines and identify opportunities to continuously improve processes, controls and reporting.

You will:

  • Prepare, review and distribute annual service charge accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
  • Produce annual service charge budgets, working closely with Operations Managers to develop realistic and robust financial plans.
  • Analyse expenditure, investigate variances and provide meaningful financial commentary to support decision-making.
  • Act as the key finance partner for your portfolio, building trusted relationships with Operations Managers and wider stakeholders.
  • Support audit requirements, resolving queries and ensuring compliance with lease, accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve homeowner account queries, providing clear and professional financial explanations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting across the Development Accounts function.
  • Work collaboratively across Services Finance, providing support during peak periods and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What we are looking for

You're a proactive finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You will bring:

  • Experience preparing annual service charge accounts and budgets.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of developments, properties or client accounts.
  • Strong business partnering experience, working collaboratively with operational stakeholders.
  • Excellent financial analysis, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working to strict reporting, audit and statutory deadlines.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using financial systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Experience within property management, housing, residential management or service charge accounting would be advantageous.
