About the role…
We’ve an exciting opportunity for an experienced, creative Development Chef to create delicious, healthy Slimming World recipes for our Slimming World Kitchen Recipe Box service.
As a full-time Development Chef in our Food and Publications team based at Slimming World’s Head Office in Alfreton, Derbyshire, you’ll play a huge part in helping us make sure that Slimming World Kitchen is the go-to service for healthy, filling and delicious meals ready to cook at home.
Through gaining a deep understanding of Slimming World’s Food Optimising plan, our Development Chef will develop, test, cook and write recipes which are in line with the plan and our quality standards, using Slimming World’s Free Foods in creative and delicious ways.
The key responsibilities for the role are to:
- Use data analysing skills, as well as food trends, customer insights and competitor analysis, to inform recipe creation and improvement
- Improve and refine existing recipes to enhance quality, taste and customer experience, based on internal and external customer feedback
- Manage the day-to-day running of our test kitchen within Head Office, including ordering ingredients/stock to use in your recipe development
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, organisation and food safety
- Work with internal teams to ensure recipe accuracy, both from a writing style and nutrition point of view
- Support with Slimming World recipe development for other business areas as required, e.g. recipe books, marketing and PR campaigns, Slimming World magazine, social media concepts, videos and other Slimming World food products.

About you…
We’d love to hear from you if you’re passionate about delivering an outstanding service and you:
- Are a devoted foodie, who loves creating delicious recipes and keeping up to date with food trends
- Have work experience in a professional kitchen, or in a food or product development environment
- Have some experience in recipe creation, development and writing
- Are exceptionally organised, with experience of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Are meticulous, with an eye for detail
- Are a team player with demonstrable ability to collaborate effectively across departments, both internally and externally
- Can provide, and receive, constructive feedback during group recipe discussions
- Are proficient in data analysis and reporting, and can interpret data to build insights and support informed decision making.
