Job Title: Commercial Insurance Account Executive / New Business Executive

Location: West Sussex

Salary: Open (dependent on experience and existing book of business)

With in-house claims and account handling teams, you'll have the backing you need to focus on developing client relationships and generating new business.

Role Summary

This is an office-based Commercial Account Executive role focused on winning new business and building long-term client relationships. You'll have the autonomy to develop your own approach, meet clients face-to-face, and build a portfolio of commercial clients. Whether you prefer to retain and grow the accounts you win or hand servicing over to the internal team, the role offers the flexibility to play to your strengths while benefiting from a highly supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new commercial insurance business through proactive outbound activity, giving you direct influence over your earnings and career progression.
  • Build relationships with prospective clients through meetings, networking, and telephone outreach to establish long-term partnerships.
  • Develop opportunities across a broad range of commercial risks, including higher-value cases where appropriate.
  • Work closely with the in-house claims and account handling teams to ensure clients receive a seamless service.
  • Manage your pipeline to consistently achieve agreed new business targets and maximize commission opportunities.

Requirements

  • Previous commercial insurance broking experience.
  • Proven success in outbound business development or new business generation.
  • Strong relationship-building and client-facing communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the drive to succeed in a fast-paced, office-based sales environment.
  • Construction insurance experience would be advantageous, particularly for candidates seeking a higher salary.
  • An existing portfolio of clients is welcomed but not essential.
