About Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP)
The Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP), embedded within Nottinghamshire County Council’s (NCC) Strategic Safeguarding and Independent Review unit, is seeking a Development Manager to lead its partnership response to safeguarding issues.
The partnership employs a strengths-based approach—their methodology, ['Our Nottinghamshire Approach'](link not provided; implied via reference to an animation), ensures collaborative working with children, young people, families, and agencies.
The NSCP is tasked with addressing complex safeguarding challenges, including:
- Serious child safeguarding cases
- Child death reviews
- Local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (LCSPR), aligned with statutory guidance requirements
The Development Manager is pivotal in driving systemic improvements and collaboration across partner agencies, ensuring high-quality outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires leadership and accountability for:
- Effective analysis and dissemination of information related to safeguarding cases.
- Writing rapid review reports for strategic decision-making.
- Facilitating collaboration among NSCP partners and relevant external agencies.

Core Priorities:
✅ Lead the strategic safeguarding response by representing the NSCP in serious case reviews, multi-agency reviews, and systemic learning processes.
✅ Gather and synthesise information, ensuring it supports higher-level decision-making.
✅ Develop guidance and protocols to enhance safeguarding collaboration. ✅ Ensure compliance with legislation and national standards, including:
- Statutory forms of reviews (Child Death Reviews etc.)
- Local Safeguarding Practice Review requirements
- Digesting and adapting relevating national guidance
Person Specification
Experience & Qualifications
We seek candidates with:
✔ A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in safeguarding or child protection ✔ Specialist experience in policy review, practice improvement, or holding roles within safeguarding partnerships
✔ Experience in strategic, developmental work across agencies.
✔ Detailed knowledge of:
- Mental health provisions supporting children.
- Complex child death contexts.
- Legisl and national safeguarding policies (Working Together to Safeguard Children, Early Years Guidance etc).
