Development Manager
London, UK (Hybrid)
£60,000 - £80,000 per annum
Our client is a renewable energy developer with a growing pipeline of solar and battery storage projects across the UK, and they are looking for a Development Manager to progress projects through the core stages of the development lifecycle. The role exists to add capacity to a busy development team, working alongside senior colleagues to move sites from early opportunity towards consent. You would take real ownership of your own projects while building the experience to run larger schemes over time.
The Company
Our client is a solar and battery storage developer moving towards an IPP model, so the projects you work on are ones the business intends to own and operate for the long term. They foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, with a genuine focus on development and mentoring, which makes this a strong role for someone ready to step up.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
