Development Manager

Location: Cheshire Salary: Up to £70,000 plus bonus and package

A growing strategic land and development business in Cheshire is seeking a Development Manager to oversee new homes, care schemes, and mixed-use developments across England and Wales. This role offers real ownership, taking planning applications from concept through to determination—not just routine administration.

The Role

  • Run planning applications from inception to determination
  • Coordinate consultant teams across planning, highways, ecology, drainage, and heritage
  • Manage programmes, budgets, and risk across multiple live applications
  • Liasise with local authorities and address officer queries
  • Support appeals and shape planning strategy on new sites

You (Requirements & Experience)

  • A background in planning or development, ideally in:
    • Residential
    • Strategic land
    • Mixed-use
    • Care schemes
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system
  • Confidence in coordinating external consultants and technical teams
  • Well-organised with commercial acumen, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A MRTPI qualification is useful but not essential

  • Basic salary: Up to £70,000
