Development Researcher, Veritasium An opportunity to join an exciting, well-funded and fast-growing creator economy business. Veritasium is a world-leading physics and science education YouTube channel more than 20 million subscribers and more than 3 billion lifetime views. We craft high-quality, in-depth videos for a curious, engaged audience that never stops asking the big questions. Come and build the future of media with us! About the role We make science and engineering videos that reach tens of millions of people. Great videos come from great ideas, strong research and access to interesting people and places. That's where you come in. This role sits at the heart of our development process. We're looking for someone who can help us build better systems around idea development, maintain relationships with universities and researchers, and support writers as they develop stories. We're open to recent graduates — prior YouTube or TV experience isn't required. Key Responsibilities Idea tracking & systems: Build and maintain systems for tracking ideas through development. University & industry outreach: Identify researchers and institutions we should know, build relationships with them, and keep the team informed about new opportunities. Expert sourcing & access: Find the right people and places for each story — and handle the outreach needed to make access happen. Science monitoring: Stay across the latest research and discoveries — and flag developments that could become great Veritasium stories. Idea generation: Spot new stories, write pitches and present ideas to the team. Develop an understanding of what makes a strong Veritasium story.

Skills and experience Strong scientific background, with a degree in physics, maths, engineering, chemistry or a related scientific discipline. Strong written and verbal English skills. Confident communicating with researchers, academics and industry professionals, including through cold outreach. Comfortable setting up, maintaining and improving databases. Excellent research, reading comprehension, and fact-checking skills; comfortable going deep into primary sources. Highly organised, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
