At tmGroup, we’re taking conveyancing into a brighter, smarter, and simpler future with our award-winning technology.

From instant quote tools and seamless onboarding to comprehensive searches and risk management, we use data, technology, and expertise to help our clients move forward with confidence.

We're looking for a Development Team Lead to take ownership of one of our core engineering teams at an exciting point in its evolution. The team has its roots in a small, entrepreneurial business and is now maturing into a more structured, effective delivery function within tmGroup - and we need someone who can bring that structure while keeping the energy and pace that got it here.

This is a hands-on leadership role - expect around a 30/70 split between contributing code and leading your team. You'll manage an offshore development team (currently 3 - 5 people, with scope to flex as we grow), running regular check ins, setting direction, and making sure delivery stays sharp, structured and aligned to tmGroup's ways of working.

You'll report to our Head of Product Development and Delivery, working closely with the wider product and architecture teams to turn business requirements into real, shipped solutions - without carrying full architectural ownership yourself.

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor and coach a small offshore team, running regular check ins and creating a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Identify skill gaps and support the team's growth and development.
  • Bring consistency and structure to a fast-growing team, without losing its entrepreneurial pace.

Software Development & Delivery

  • Stay hands-on writing code, reviewing pull requests, and setting the technical bar for the team.
  • Plan, prioritise and manage delivery so projects land on time and to standard.
  • Continue evolving our modern tech platform, building on the significant groundwork the team has already delivered.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with product and architecture colleagues to shape solutions, not just execute tickets.
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for your projects, representing the team in cross-functional conversations.
  • Get involved in customer-facing conversations where useful - this role carries more communication and stakeholder exposure than a typical dev lead position.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion good coding standards, testing practices, and technical documentation.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes, reduce technical debt, and enhance maintainability.

About You

  • Direct experience working within the identity verification / RegTech space, ideally with a business operating in IDV, AML, e-signature or Source of Funds (SoF) technology. This is niche territory, spanning several distinct regulatory domains (IDV, AML, Source of Funds (SoF), PEPs & sanctions, e-signature), and it takes time to become proficient in it - so prior experience in this landscape is key to being productive quickly in this role.
  • A track record of leading development teams through agile/scrum delivery, ideally including offshore or distributed teams.
  • Genuine people leadership experience - this role needs someone who wants to manage and grow a team, not just supervise it.
  • Comfortable bringing structure and process to a team that's grown fast, while preserving what made it effective in the first place.
  • Strong communicator, confident engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with Flutter, Golang, Node.js and TypeScript.
