About the role
To support the NPD Manager in the management and day to day running of the NPD team and the creation of exciting new products for our customers.

Roles and responsibilities
- A key support role within our Development Team working across a wide range of customers.
- Be an ambassador for the gated NPD process and support the NPD team with the administrative aspects of the stage and gate as well as with NPD and feasibility meetings.
- Support by completing compliance checks and filling out feasibility documents prior to the weekly meeting. This includes generating nutritional's (using nutricalc), claims, customer policy compliance and keeping in line with current legislations, etc.
- Ensuring the correct documentation is available, correct and collated for customer submissions including submission forms and tasting booklets.
- Organising and conducting benchmarking to monitor ongoing quality of new and existing products.
- Supporting the Development team with regular shopping.
- Conducting product Validation work such as Cooking Validation and Freeze thaw validation.
- Keep up to date with the latest food trends and new openings so that you can talk passionately about the industry, new products and innovation.
- Support the process team in the trialing and launching of new products to ensure successful scale up in the factory and grow your operational knowledge.
- Assist the NPD Manager in driving a food agenda within the business and promoting our food values both internally and externally.
- Input recipes accurately on to the development system and ensure new raw materials are sourced in a timely manner and in line with customer policies to support the costing process.
- Assist with factory trials and product sampling
- Product QAS construction

Qualifications
Those wishing to apply must possess the following:
- Food related degree level qualification.
- Passion for food is essential.
- Commercial understanding and ability to develop to a cost.
- IT skills—Excel, PowerPoint and Word as well as internal systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of nutrition and calculation of nutritional information
