Development Technologist
We’re seeking a Development Technologist to join our team in Billericay. With a £34k salary plus benefits, this is an exciting opportunity to turn customer briefs into commercially viable products.
Main Purpose of the Role:
As a Development Technologist, you will translate food product design briefs into tailored ingredient solutions that meet customer needs and industry standards, driving commercial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Collaboration: Act as a point of contact for customer NPD teams, fostering strong relationships.
- Recipe Development: Design and develop recipes from customer briefs, including analysing and recreating existing products to meet specifications.
- Taste Assessment: Ensure recipes meet taste standards required, as ingredients and final application.
- Documentation: Prepare and provide technical documentation and quotes with samples to meet deadlines.
- Pricing & Compliance: Collaborate with account managers to ensure commercial and technical needs are met.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Problem-solving expertise to address customer needs with innovative solutions.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively, working independently when needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
- Attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Basic analytical skills to interpret recipe data and drive decisions.
- Familiarity with recipe management software is preferable.
- Experience in food manufacturing environments is preferable.
