Development Underwriter | Scotland | Home-Based Up to £80,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Looking for a role where you can genuinely shape and grow a portfolio rather than simply inherit one?

We're partnering with a highly regarded national insurer to appoint a Development Underwriter in Scotland.

This is a newly created role within a growing regional operation, offering the opportunity to build broker relationships, drive new business growth and make a visible impact in the market.

You'll have the backing of a well-established insurer, genuine underwriting authority and the flexibility of a home-based position while maintaining a strong presence across the Scottish broker market.

The Opportunity

This is a market-facing role with a strong focus on broker development and profitable growth across Scotland's commercial insurance sector.

Developing and strengthening relationships with commercial insurance brokers across Scotland. Identifying, securing and underwriting new business opportunities. Managing and developing an existing broker panel and portfolio. Underwriting a broad range of commercial Property & Casualty risks within delegated authority. Acting as a trusted underwriting partner to brokers and key stakeholders. Contributing to the continued growth of the Scottish operation.

This is an ideal opportunity for an underwriter who enjoys being out in the market, building relationships and influencing business growth.

About You

We're keen to speak with individuals who can demonstrate:

Strong commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience. Existing broker relationships within the Scottish market. A successful track record of winning and developing profitable business. Experience gained within an insurer, MGA or similar underwriting environment. Strong commercial awareness and relationship management skills. The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a wider regional team.
