Atrium is seeking a Senior Associate Device Engineer to join the Device Engineering Sciences Team in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative drug delivery devices, supporting projects from early-stage development through design verification and risk assessment.
Working within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, you will apply your technical expertise to evaluate device performance, develop test methods, analyse data, and support robust, compliant product development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the testing, analysis, and evaluation of drug delivery devices and primary containers.
- Develop and execute experimental studies, test methods, and verification activities.
- Author and review design control documentation and technical reports.
- Conduct risk assessments and contribute to design and user Failure Mode Effects Analysis.
- Analyse performance data using statistical and engineering techniques.
- Support design verification, manufacturing process qualification, and supplier assessments.
- Maintain laboratory documentation and ensure compliance with ISO 13485, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors across device development projects.

Experience Required:
- A degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or drug delivery device development.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electronic testing methodologies.
- Experience developing and validating test methods and experimental setups.
- Understanding of design verification, risk management, and data analysis.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as ISO 13485, GLP, or GMP.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical reporting skills.
- Experience with CAD software (preferably Creo) and engineering calculations would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of FEA and device lifecycle management is desirable.
