About The Role and Team
Quantum Motion is a fast-growing quantum computing scale-up based in London, founded by internationally renowned researchers from UCL and Oxford University. With over 40 years’ experience in developing qubits and quantum computing architectures, the company combines cutting-edge cryogenic facilities and an interdisciplinary team to build quantum processors using industrial-grade silicon chips. Their technology could revolutionise fields such as materials modelling, medicine, and artificial intelligence.
Their growing team has been recognised annually in EE Times’ "Top 100 Startups worth watching" (2021–2022) and their breakthroughs have been featured in The Telegraph, BBC, and the New Statesman. The founders’ expertise has shaping the industry, and their chairman is the co-founder of Cadence and Synopsys, two leaders in Electronic Design Automation.
Backed by top-tier investors, they recently closed a $160 million Series C funding round. The team is a fertile mix of quantum engineers, IC engineers, quantum theorists, and software engineers, driving scalable quantum computer innovation on silicon-based technology.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
