DevOps Engineer – Google Cloud (GCP) & Kubernetes (GKE)

📍 UK-Based | Hybrid/Remote

Full-Time

Build. Optimise. Innovate.

We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing Cloud Engineering team, supporting a large enterprise customer operating a complex Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role where you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and continual improvement of a large-scale Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) platform. You'll be responsible for enhancing platform reliability, security, automation, and observability while working alongside experienced cloud specialists and customer stakeholders.

If you're passionate about Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, automation, and solving complex technical challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

You'll become the dedicated DevOps engineer supporting an established GCP environment, responsible for:

  • Managing and supporting Kubernetes (GKE) workloads and platform services
  • Deploying and maintaining applications using GitOps and FluxCD
  • Investigating and resolving platform and deployment issues
  • Optimising workload performance, scaling, and resource utilisation
  • Taking ownership of the customer's Datadog monitoring and observability platform
  • Improving dashboards, alerting, monitoring coverage, and reducing alert fatigue
  • Managing vulnerability remediation and improving security posture across containerised workloads
  • Producing operational documentation, runbooks, and technical guidance
  • Working closely with customer engineering teams while coordinating with third-party infrastructure partners
  • Contributing to continual service improvement and technical reviews

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
