Job Summary

Infosys is seeking a skilled DevOps & Jira Engineer to join its team in Stevenage, UK. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline implementation, Jira administration, and Agile project support. The candidate will be responsible for automating software delivery processes, managing Jira workflows, supporting development teams, and ensuring efficient collaboration across engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support software development and deployment.
  • Administer and configure Jira projects, workflows, issue types, permissions, dashboards, and automation rules.
  • Support Agile teams by managing Jira boards, sprint planning, reporting, and backlog configuration.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to improve release processes and deployment efficiency.
  • Monitor build and deployment pipelines and troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage source code repositories and branching strategies using Git.
  • Integrate Jira with tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with DevOps best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Jira Administration and workflow customization.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
  • Strong knowledge of Git and version control practices.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Linux system administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience integrating Jira with Confluence and DevOps tools.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with release management and deployment automation.
  • Atlassian Jira Administration certification is a plus.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are an added advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant DevOps, Cloud, or Atlassian certifications are preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in enterprise environments with global delivery teams.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and DevSecOps principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced onsite Agile environment.
