Senior DevOps Engineer

Financial Services Business Unit • C&CA • Hybrid Role

About the Role

Join the Financial Services Business Unit within C&CA as a DevOps Engineer, helping clients build resilient, scalable, and future-ready technology platforms.

Working as a trusted advisor, you will:

  • Lead the adoption of modern delivery practices
  • Drive automation at scale
  • Enable high-performing engineering teams to deliver business outcomes with confidence

Ideal for a self-starter who thrives in complex, data-intensive environments, collaborates across diverse stakeholders, and is passionate about continuous improvement, innovation, and evolving ways of working.

You will help shape sustainable, secure, and efficient delivery capabilities for our clients.


Working Arrangement: Hybrid The places you work from will vary between company offices, client sites, and your home, with a requirement for some on-site attendance.


Responsibilities

✔ Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the DevOps strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and business priorities.

✔ Modern Engineering & Delivery Practices

  • Lead adoption of modern engineering and delivery practices that improve quality, consistency, and speed of delivery.

✔ Team Development & Culture

  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.

✔ Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, product, security, and operational stakeholders to drive measurable improvements across the software delivery lifecycle.

✔ Governance & Standards

  • Establish governance frameworks, standards, and operating models for scalable and sustainable delivery.

✔ Automation & Efficiency

  • Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and enhance operational efficiency.

✔ Resilience & Observability

  • Champion observability, service resilience, and proactive incident management to support highly available production environments.

Skills & Experience

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading DevOps capabilities within large-scale, complex, and data-intensive programmes
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data processing architectures and enterprise delivery environments
  • Demonstrable ability to define and implement DevOps operating models, governance standards, and engineering best practices
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing senior stakeholder expectations
  • Strong understanding of application delivery, deployment, integration, and operational support
  • Ability to plan, estimate, prioritise, and deliver multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation, platform scalability, reliability, resilience, and performance optimisation
  • Experience in data processing, data mapping, and technical workflow design
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
  • Awareness of AI-driven capabilities and their impact on engineering effectiveness

Good-to-Have Skills

  • AWS Proficiency:
    • EC2, Lambda, Auto Scaling, VPC, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, KMS
    • CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
    • Data services: Glue, Athena, Crawler, Lake Formation, and Redshift
  • Orchestration & CI/CD:
    • Apache Airflow (orchestration)
    • Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Containerisation
  • DevSecOps & Cloud Security Best practices in cloud security controls
  • Multi-Cloud Experience: AWS and Microsoft Azure environments
  • Relevant Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory) Cloud, DevOps, security, or architecture certifications
