About the Role
Reporting to the Senior DevOps Engineer. We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing Software Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a strategic programme while supporting the wider development function. We're looking for someone who is technically strong, collaborative and enjoys solving complex infrastructure and deployment challenges.
This is a hybrid role based around our Warwick office. Most day-to-day work can be completed remotely, but applicants should be comfortable travelling to Warwick on a regular basis as project needs require. Ad-hoc travel to client sites will also be required.
What you’ll do
- Support the delivery of our software platform and wider software development projects.
- Develop, maintain and optimise Azure DevOps pipelines and deployment processes.
- Build, configure and manage Azure Local infrastructure.
- Create, configure and maintain VMware virtual environments.
- Implement and support containerised applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Manage and administer Windows and Linux environments.
- Automate infrastructure and operational processes using PowerShell and Azure scripting.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, testers and technical stakeholders to improve development and release processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps practices, automation and infrastructure.
- Support SQL Server environments where required.

Who you are
You will become the team's second DevOps specialist, helping to design, implement and maintain modern DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This is a highly visible role that will have a direct impact on the successful delivery of our software programmes.
Key Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Azure DevOps Administration/Pipeline creation, integration and maintenance
- Expertise in Azure Local and Microsoft Azure Services
- VMware virtual machine creation and administration
- Experience with containerisation technologies (Kubernetes/ Azure Kubernetes Service and Docker)
- Strong Windows and Linux administration skills
- PowerShell scripting
- Experience of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and CaC (Configuration as Code)
- Working knowledge of SQL Server Databases
- Requirement to undertake Security Clearance for the role
