About the Role
We are partnering with a globally recognized media and technology organisation to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer for their Belfast engineering team.
The Opportunity
- Pivotal, hands-on senior role at the heart of a major re-platforming initiative
- Migrating a legacy application to Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Modernising infrastructure to cloud-native best practices

Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Extensive experience in AWS cloud services (full ecosystem knowledge, not siloed service expertise)
- Strong Linux fundamentals
- Solid networking knowledge
- Hands-on experience with distributed architectures
- Proven track record of owning and managing production environments
- Experience with containerised workloads (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent)
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, Go, or similar
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure AWS infrastructure to support business growth
- Lead legacy system migration to cloud-native architectures, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar) for repeatable, reliable deployments
- Enhance system reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency through automation and strategic improvements
- Modernise CI/CD pipelines for rapid, safe software delivery across environments
- Support incident response, troubleshoot issues, and improve operational visibility via monitoring, logging, and tracing
- Mentor junior engineers, share expertise, and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
