Description
TL;DR: Kharon is seeking a full-time DevOps Engineer based in London, UK.
Location: London, UK
Annual Remuneration: £90,000–£105,000 and discretionary annual bonus
Pay Frequency: Monthly
Probationary Period: 180 days
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days per week
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of cloud infrastructure supporting Kharon's high-performance SaaS applications, with a focus on API-driven, infrastructure-as-code control planes
- Build and continuously improve automation for infrastructure provisioning, developer tooling, and internal workflows to increase engineering velocity
- Monitor system health and capacity, proactively identifying limitations and alerting on potential production issues to uphold SLA commitments
- Embed security-first principles into infrastructure architecture, automation design, and day-to-day operations
- Design and maintain systems for operational administration, backup, disaster recovery, and performance/security monitoring
- Collaborate cross-functionally as a hands-on contributor — giving and receiving feedback openly, and adapting quickly to new tools and technologies
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering role
- Strong software development background, with deep expertise in at least one programming language
- Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes preferred)
- Experience with a major cloud provider (AWS preferred)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation tooling (OpenTofu preferred)
- Experience building fully automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and ArgoCD preferred)
- Solid understanding of monitoring, networking, and security, with depth in at least one area
- Strong command of Linux systems
