About Amber Labs

Amber Labs is a fast-growing UK technology consultancy delivering digital transformation across enterprise, government and regulated sectors. We specialise in cloud, data, software engineering, user-centred design and AI, helping organisations deliver better services through modern technology and agile ways of working.

We're currently supporting the delivery of critical digital services within a major UK government programme and are looking for experienced DevOps Engineers to join our growing engineering teams.

This role will support large-scale transformation initiatives within a nationally significant public sector environment, helping build secure, scalable cloud platforms that underpin modern digital services.

The Role

As a DevOps Engineer, you will design, build and optimise secure cloud infrastructure, automation and deployment pipelines that enable the delivery of resilient, high-performing digital services.

Working within multidisciplinary agile teams, you'll collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, security specialists, product teams and platform engineers to deliver cloud-native solutions using infrastructure as code and modern DevOps practices. You'll play a key role in improving automation, deployment reliability, platform performance and operational resilience across government services.

The role may support a range of digital transformation initiatives, including customer-facing services, internal platforms and mission-critical public sector systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
