DevOps Engineer

Senior Software Engineer – Infrastructure Automation (Python, IaC, Puppet, PowerShell)

About the Role

At NiCE, we embrace challenges to push beyond boundaries. We set high standards and thrive on exceeding them. If you share this ambition, we invite you to join us as a Senior Software Engineer by solving complex infrastructure challenges through software engineering and automation.

In this highly technical, coding-focused position, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks to streamline cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes. As an automation-driven engineer, you'll leverage technologies like Python, Jinja2, Terraform, Puppet, and PowerShell to deliver infrastructure as code (IaC) at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive infrastructure standardization by developing Python-based automation frameworks, enabling consistent, repeatable cloud and on-premises deployments.
  • Accelerate provisioning through Terraform code-generation platforms using Python + Jinja2, producing validated, environment-specific infrastructure from reusable templates.
  • Improve system reliability and compliance by developing, maintaining, and scaling Puppet modules, manifests, and Hiera configurations for mixed Linux/Windows environments.
  • Optimize Windows operations via PowerShell automation, automating server management, Active Directory, hybrid cloud integrations, and administrative tasks.
  • Simplify workflows by creating CLI tools, command-line utilities, and APIs for operational self-service, reducing manual toil across the organisation.
  • Boost CI/CD pipeline integration of automation frameworks to enable automated validation, testing, and deployment of infrastructure changes.
  • Enhance software quality by implementing unit testing, linting, and integration testing for infrastructure code (Python + Puppet).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with cloud, platform, and application teams to identify automation opportunities and eliminate operational bottlenecks.
  • Foster an engineering culture through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and improving maintainability, security, and quality of automation solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
