DevOps (AWS Platform & Software Engineering)

Location: London (Hybrid: 3 days per week in-office)
Tech Stack: AWS, Terragrunt/Terraform, GitLab CI, Python, SQL

Morgan McKinley has partnered with a fast-growing, highly profitable proprietary trading firm in London. They combine institutional-grade market platforms with proprietary, in-house front-office trading systems. Operating with a flat structure and an "80/20" pragmatic mindset, they focus heavily on high-impact automation over corporate bureaucracy.

This role is ideal for an ambitious engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience who has mastered core infrastructure but wants to lean further into software automation, internal tooling, and data engineering - positioning themselves for a rapid trajectory into a Senior Engineer role.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Infrastructure as Code: Own, scale, and evolve multi-environment AWS infrastructure natively using Terragrunt and Terraform.
  • Data & Orchestration: Maintain production Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, alongside managing data layers including Postgres (Aurora), MongoDB, and Kafka streams.
  • Software Tooling: Write clean automation scripts, internal platform tools, and targeted database fixes using Python and SQL to streamline the delivery lifecycle.
  • CI/CD & Observability: Build out robust deployment pipelines in GitLab CI and leverage Datadog to optimize system reliability and reduce operational firefighting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
