Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) | 12-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £30 per hour | Manchester/Hybrid
We're recruiting for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join a leading automotive brand on an exciting 12-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-scale cloud platforms, supporting modern infrastructure, automation, and reliability initiatives within a high-performing engineering environment.

- Rate: £30 per hour
- IR35: Inside IR35
- Location: Manchester/Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
- Support and improve enterprise-scale production platforms using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
- Build, maintain, and automate cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes environments.
- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, observability, and automation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Mentor engineers and promote DevOps and SRE best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Strong experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies, including:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- 4+ years of experience working with at least one major cloud platform:
- AWS
- Azure
- GCP
- Proficiency in Site Reliability Engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools, including:
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- ELK
- SonarQube
- Experience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab for source control.
- Knowledge of modern CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using:
- Terraform
- Ansible
- Strong scripting skills in:
- Python
- Bash (or similar scripting languages).
- Experience operating enterprise-scale production environments.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
- TCP/IP
- HTTP
- DNS
- DHCP
- FTP
- IPSec
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in Agile engineering teams.

- Software development experience with:
- Go
- Java
- JavaScript
- Experience with cloud-native microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and messaging technologies.
- Experience with databases such as:
- MySQL
- MongoDB
- Other NoSQL databases.
