Senior DevOps Engineer
Position: Senior DevOps Engineer Department: Platform Engineering Reporting to: Senior Technology Manager Location: London or Amsterdam Flexibility: Hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote working)

About This Role
At JET Platform Engineering, we’re building the next generation of our developer platform. We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer—an expert who excels in scalability, automation, and developer experience. If you thrive in collaborative, fast-moving environments and drive impactful engineering solutions, we want you on our team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing modern engineer-facing products and features
- Building scalable, resilient software components using Python
- Managing cloud infrastructure (AWS/EC2/ECS/S3, GCP or Azure) with automation for high availability
- Optimizing applications for performance and scalability in global SaaS environments
- Creating & maintaining documentation, including runbooks and operational guides
- Supporting CI/CD workflows in complex, distributed environments
- Collaborating cross-functionally in agile teams with global stakeholders

Development & Cloud Expertise
- Develop new features and tools for developers’ workflows (e.g., CLI tools, IDE integrations, observability dashboards)
- Design and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability
- Implement serverless architectures and event-driven systems
- Author, adapt, and maintain automated runbooks and operational playbooks for incident response
Scale & Performance
- Optimize performance, reliability, and security of distributed systems
- Implement adaptive resiliency strategies in microservices environments
Collaboration & Ownership
- Act as a technical mentor for junior engineers and düzle platform contributors.
- Represent platform engineering in cross-functional meetings and roadmap discussions
Who You Are
Essential
- Proven track record in production-level DevOps/Platform Engineering
- 5+ years of Python and experience with SOLID/DRY design principles
- Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration (e.g., Amazon ECS/Fargate, EKS)
- Deep understanding of RESTful/GraphQL APIs in performance-critical environments
- Ability to operate seamlessly with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Argo CD, Azure DevOps)
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, CloudWatch)
- Experience building global, distributed systems for high availability and low latency
- Strong Unit, Integration & Performance testing background
Preferred
- Experience with Terraform/Ansible/Pulumi as IAC tools
- Comfort with OpenTelemetry for observability
- Familiarity with Just Eat Takeaway’s tech stack and artifacts (competitive advantage)
- Background in blockchain or machine ingestions tools
- Interactive with data latency refinement to improve delivery platforms
