Interim DevOps Engineer (Contract)
Hybrid | Newcastle HQ Outside Ir35, initial 3 month contract.
We're looking for an experienced Interim DevOps Engineer to join our growing SaaS business on an initial contract. This is a hands-on role where you'll work across our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes platform and wider technology estate, helping to maintain, improve and scale our environments.
You'll be part of a collaborative engineering team, contributing to platform reliability, automation and operational excellence. The role is predominantly remote, with regular travel to our Newcastle HQ as required.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and improving our AWS cloud infrastructure
- Supporting and optimising Kubernetes workloads and container platforms
- Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code and automation
- Enhancing CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Monitoring platform health, performance and security
- Collaborating with engineering teams to deliver resilient, scalable solutions
- Supporting both cloud infrastructure and wider IT environments where required

We're looking for someone who has
- Proven experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role
- Strong AWS infrastructure expertise
- Commercial Kubernetes experience
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform or OpenTofu preferred)
- Docker and containerisation expertise
- Solid Linux administration skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with engineering and technical stakeholders
